Held at Exaltation of The Holy Cross in Hanover Township, the mass expressed gratitude to the men and women who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe. Members of the public safety community attended the event, which included blessings for those who contribute to public health and safety, as well as prayers for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
The Hanover Township Police Department and Hanover Township Fire Department participated in the mass, with members from each offering readings. The Hanover Township Fire Department Honor Guard and Chaplain also paid tribute to those who have given their lives in service.
The Blue Mass, a tradition dating back to 1934, serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of acknowledging the sacrifices made by our public safety personnel. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Father Cirba for hosting this meaningful event, which honors the brave men and women who serve Hanover Township.
“Greater love has no man than this: that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).
