On August 8, 2025, at approximately 7:44 p.m., the Forty Fort Police were dispatched to Tripp Street for the report of a suspicious male standing on the back porch of a residence possibly trying to gain entry. Police responded and were unable to locate the suspicious male at the time, however because the residence had a security camera, police were able to review the video footage and recognized who they believed the person to be.
Later, on August 8, 2025, Police were called back to the residence after the homeowner returned and discovered several knives that were left behind. The homeowners believed the knives belonged to the suspicious male. Police seized the knives as evidence.
On August 9, 2025, Forty Fort police contacted a Forty Fort resident whose home is near the suspected home of the suspicious male. The resident's home is equipped with a video surveillance system which covers the route that the suspicious male could have used to get back home. The Forty Fort resident was able to work with Police and thanks to the video surveillance from both systems, paired with past police experiences involving the suspicious subject, police were able to positively identify the suspicious male as being Carl Elgin of Oak Street in Forty Fort.
ELGIN was arrested on an existing bench warrant and transported to LCCF. Forty Fort Police have completed charges on ELGIN for Criminal Trespass (F-3 & Summary); Possessing instruments of crime (M-1); and he will be arraigned on those charges prior to his release on the bench warrant.
