In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation that designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. National Police Week offers honor, remembrance, and peer support, while allowing law enforcement, survivors, and citizens to gather and pay homage to those who gave their lives in the line of duty. It includes the National Peace Officers Memorial Service and other events throughout the week that honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The officers of the Forty Fort Police Department pay tribute to the brave officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their communities, and we express our gratitude and appreciation for all of our fellow law enforcement professionals who continue to work tirelessly to keep their communities safe.
